Purchasing agents: explore the work and your evidence
Purchasing work connects requirements, supplier evidence and order follow-through. A low quote can be unusable when delivery or quantities miss the requirement. Explore the task inventory with one concrete item in mind, then note which evidence you would need before making a recommendation.
Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. Purchase raw or semifinished materials for manufacturing. May negotiate contracts.

Read your shortlist
A useful shortlist contains different activities and a specific reason to investigate each one. Identify where you already have an example, where you need more context and which task you can try with the fictional practice cases below. Your notes are exploration, not a hiring assessment.
Try related work
Compare supplier quotes after pack size and freight
You need at least 95 units within seven days. Compare the cost of feasible orders, including the supplier’s pack size and one freight charge.
Rank suppliers with published weights
A sourcing team has already scored three suppliers on the same 0–100 scale. Apply the agreed weights and explain why the highest price score does not win overall.
Calculate a reorder with reservations and late inbound stock
A buyer needs a replenishment quantity for three items. Work from usable stock at the cutoff, then round the shortage to full supplier packs.
